Winnipeg police say three men have been charged with allegedly trafficking drugs after receiving a report that a man had a gun in a home.
Around 3 p.m. on July 30, officers responded to a home along Mountain Avenue near Salter Street after receiving a report that a man had a gun.
While at the home, police took three men into custody, and were able to seize a 9mm handgun that was reportedly in plain view in the home.
A search warrant was executed just after 9 p.m. at the home, and police were able to seize $56,000 in drugs, which included nearly 3 kilograms of methamphetamine, 379 grams of fentanyl, 126 grams of cocaine, over $55,000 in Canadian currency, a loaded 9mm handgun, scales, vacuum sealers, and other drug related paraphernalia.
The three men — 34-year-old Michael Maurice Mentuck, 34-year-old James Anthony, and 33-year-old Jarrod Michael Davis — have since been charged with possession of a scheduled substance, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of a firearm knowing it’s possession is unauthorized, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by a crime over $5,000.
