Over 1700 evacuees can safely return home to Sherridon, Herb Lake Landing, Cranberry Portage, and Snow Lake, as mandatory evacuation notices have been lifted.
However, Manitoba Wildfire Service continues to respond to 21 active wildfires across the province.
In the east, one of the fires has spread to approximately 219,000 hectares. Provincial Road 315 is closed at the Tanco Mine north of the Bird River area, with no travel beyond that point to Nopiming Provincial Park.
In the west, a fire near Sherridon and Flin Flon is over 370,000 ha and remains out of control. Mandatory evacuation orders remain in place for Grass River and Wekusko Falls provincial parks, as well as several communities in the area.
The north of the province has also been impacted by the wildfires, with three active blazes covering over 150,000 hectares in total.
