Man in hospital following afternoon shooting in Winnipeg

Winnipeg police say a man is in hospital after being shot Saturday afternoon.

WPS responded to a report of gunfire near Mountain Avenue and Salter Street around 3:15 p.m. on May 24.

When officers arrived, they found a 39-year-old man suffering from serious upper-body injuries that were consistent with being shot.

The man was taken to hospital by paramedics in unstable condition, but has since been upgraded to stable.

Police are investigating the incident and ask if anyone has any information; they should contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
