It’s Christmas eve, meaning Santa himself is making his last preparations before the big day, and at Polo Park, Winnipeggers seem to be doing the same.
“I feel like Christmas eve is technically tonight, so I did it before. But other than that, yeah I’m a little late this year,” said one Winnipegger.
“Haven’t started yet, just starting now,” said another Winnipegger.
When asked who locals were Christmas shopping for, many said family.
“My mom mostly, because I kind of procrastinated shopping for her,” said one Winnipegger.
“Honestly, I’m looking for gifts for my littles, we have little children in our family so I’m looking for gifts for them. I’m looking for gifts for my pastor, I’m still trying to get gifts for my friends and my loved ones. So, I’m trying to scramble around, still lots to do,” said another local.
Locals were also asked what they wanted for Christmas.
“I just bought a new house and got engaged, so some stuff like that, I’m hoping for a lawn mower, and some home things, boring house stuff,” said one local.
“Well, I’d love a new car. But anything, I’m grateful, forever and always for everything”, said another local.
“Love, and togetherness. Yes, honestly that’s what Christmas is all about. Sharing of the love of Christ, and just fellowship and showing kindness. Please reach out to those who may be lonely or don’t have anyone to celebrate with, please just show kindness and kind hearts,” said another.
