Mounties in northern Manitoba say three people were arrested, including a 16-year-old Winnipeg boy, after cash and drug paraphernalia were seized from a home on Tataskweyak Cree Nation last week.
Thompson Rural RCMP say they were called to a home on Friday around 7 a.m. for the report of suspicious people who were possibly armed.
Officers arrived and asked anyone inside to exit, according to police. A Tataskweyak Cree Nation, 32, walked outside and was arrested.
Officers say they entered the home “with consent” and found two men in a locked room that allegedly contained “a large amount of cash and drug-related paraphernalia within.”
Authorities say they seized $25,000 in cash, a large knife, baton and the drug paraphernalia.
The 32-year-old suspect, a 25-year-old from Brampton and the 16-year-old from Winnipeg were charged with possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Thompson Rural RCMP is investigating.
