Man hospitalized after stabbing in Elm Park neighbourhood

Winnipeg police say a 49-year-old man is in hospital after a stabbing on Sunday.

WPS says officers responded to a report of a stabbing around 9 p.m., and upon arriving at the scene on Loraine Street, found a man with serious upper body injuries.

He was taken to hospital in unstable condition, and was later upgraded to stable.

Through the initial stages of their investigation, police learned that the incident happened in a common area of a multi-unit dwelling residence on St. Mary’s Road near the Trans Canada Highway, after a verbal altercation took place.

Police say no charges have been laid, and the 49-year-old informed them that he did not want further police involvement.
