Winnipeg inmate accidentally released from prison back in custody

Winnipeg police says 27-year-old Mark Phillip Traverse is back in custody after he was accidentally released from prison.

WPS says on Tuesday they were informed by Manitoba Justice that Traverse had been released in error.

Around 5:30 p.m., members of the Manitoba Integrated Violent Offender Apprehension Unit (MIVOAU) were able to find Traverse in the Municipality of Gypsumville, MB.

Police note he was taken into custody without incident.
