Downtown Winnipeg sexual assaults: 27-year-old man charged

Winnipeg police say a man is facing nine charges of sexual assault related to incidents that occurred between June and September in the downtown area.

The Winnipeg Police Service says the 27-year-old suspect was arrested Sunday at a home on Sterling Lyon Parkway.

Police allege the man approached eight female victims – aged 19 to 41 – from behind in each of the incidents, which all took place in the evening or at night.

The WPS sex crimes unit linked the same suspect to all incidents. Authorities don’t believe the suspect and victims knew each other.
