Winnipeg police say a 41-year-old man has been charged in connection to a child pornography investigation after a sex doll that was made to look like a child was seized by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
Winnipeg police say in August, their Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) was notified by the CBSA that a package destined for a Winnipeg address had been seized. The package reportedly contained the doll that was anatomically designed to look like a pre-pubescent child.
Through an investigation, police executed a warrant at the home where the package was bound for.
During the search, officers were able to find and seize several electronic devices and other unnamed items.
As a result, a 41-year-old man was taken into custody.
Police continued their investigation and were able to learn that the man had previously imported similar items, as well as children’s clothing between December 2022 and August 2024.
The man has since been charged with:
- Possession of child pornography;
- Importing, distributing, selling or possessing for the purpose of distribution;
- And make, prints, publishes or possess for the purpose of publication any child pornography.
Police say their investigation is ongoing.
