Extreme cold warning issued for Winnipeg

By News Staff

All southern Manitoba, including the City of Winnipeg, has been placed under an extreme cold warning.

The extreme wind chill temperatures are expected to hit minus-45 Celsius.

While those temperatures eased Wednesday morning, they were expected to return in the evening “as a bitterly cold Arctic airmass remains over the region,” according to Environment Canada.

The cold weather is slated to continue into the weekend.

Temperatures should approach seasonal values at some point on Sunday.
