Independent investigation finds Arlen Dumas engaged in alleged workplace sexual harassment

Following an independent investigation into an alleged workplace sexual harassment, the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs (AMC) will be holding a vote of non-confidence against Grand Chief Arlen Dumas.

In March the AMC received a complaint of an alleged workplace sexual harassment involving Dumas. At that time he was suspended from his duties, and an investigation began.

The investigation found “the conduct engaged in by Arlen Dumas amounted to workplace sexual harassment under the AMC’s Personnel Policy Manual and under applicable workplace legislation,” said the AMC in a statement.

Due to the nature of the incident, the AMC could not release any other details on the matter and the report “will remain confidential.”

The AMC says until the vote, Dumas will remain suspended without pay.
