Man, 42, arrested on shoplifting charges in Winnipeg

A 42-year-old man was arrested and charged with robbery allegations Friday.

Winnipeg police (WPS) received a 911 call around 2 p.m. reporting that a man had shoplifted at a store in the 1400 block of Portage Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers located and arrested the suspect nearby.

All incidents were captured on the retailer’s security cameras and reported to police.

The total loss is estimated at over $3000.

WPS said investigators had also linked the suspect to 10 reported retail thefts between Sept. 4 and Oct. 1

The suspect allegedly visited businesses multiple times and shoplifted items ranging from $65 to $700, WPS said.

Roger Franklin Sinclair faces 10 counts of theft under $5000 and robbery. He remains in police custody.
