Gas leak shut down part of Munroe Avenue Thursday

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services says they responded to a gas leak just before 4 p.m. on Oct. 1 along Munroe Avenue.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found a natural gas line that is believed to have been hit by construction work.

Out of precaution, firefighters evacuated nearby buildings, while Manitoba Hydro crews worked to stop the leak.

Due to the incident, road closures were put in place along Munroe Avenue between London Street and Gateway Street, and Grey Street between Hoskin Avenue and Moncton Avenue.
