Winnipeg man wanted by police following assault in Portage la Prairie; air rifle recovered

Mounties are looking for a 41-year-old Winnipeg man accused of assaulting someone at a Portage la Prairie home last week and of threatening to shoot another person with a gun.
Portage la Prairie RCMP say officers were called to a home on Friday around 1 a.m. for a disturbance involving a firearm.
Police allege a man assaulted someone at the home, then showed another resident he was carrying a firearm and threatened to shoot him. The suspect then fled.
The weapon, described as a modified air rifle, was found behind a business.
Authorities are still looking for Shayne Peters, who is facing 10 charges including assault; possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose; uttering threats and more.
He is described as five-foot-eight with a thin build, brown hair and brown eyes. Police say he is known to frequent Winnipeg, Portage la Prairie and Long Plains First Nation.
