4 charged after guns, drugs seized from northeast Winnipeg home

Winnipeg police say nine people were arrested, of which four were charged, after officers seized firearms, drugs, and stolen property from a home in the city’s northeast.

The Winnipeg Police Service says it began investigating the home on Harbison Avenue West, in the Bronx neighbourhood, last month.

On Monday morning, multiple units – including the tactical squad – searched the home. Police say they seized a shotgun, a semi-automatic rifle, 26 ounces of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, drug packaging materials, and a Norco bicycle.

Of the nine people arrested, five were released without charges.

Two men, aged 33 and 40, are facing firearms, drug, and property-related charges.

A 42-year-old woman was charged with an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court, and a 37-year-old woman was charged with public mischief and three outstanding warrants.
