Police apprehend prisoner who escaped from Manitoba facility

Authorities say a prisoner who escaped from the Milner Ridge Correctional Centre in the RM of Lac du Bonnet on Wednesday night is now back in police custody.

Manitoba RCMP say Justin Paul was arrested around 11 a.m. Thursday near Highway 11 and Minnewawa Street W in Lac du Bonnet.

Paul had last been seen Wednesday night walking northeast of the facility into a wooded area.

Mounties say police dogs and drone operators were called in, and roadblocks were put in place, but law enforcement could not find him at the time.
