Winnipeg man, 41, accused of sexually assaulting teen girl he chatted with online

Winnipeg police say a 41-year-old man allegedly sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl when the two met in person after speaking online.

The Winnipeg Police Service says the alleged sexual assault happened June 21.

The teenager told police the suspect met with her and some of her friends, and he provided them alcohol and drove them around.

Authorities say the girl was sexually assaulted “at some point during their interaction.”

The man then dropped the girls off and police were contacted.

The girl says she had met the man earlier that month, and the two began speaking on social media.

On Monday, Mandeep Singh was arrested and charged with various offences, including sexual assault, exploitation, luring and obtaining sexual services from a youth.
