Winnipeg police say a 15-year-old girl has been charged after a man in his 40s was stabbed while jogging in St. Vital on Saturday night.
The Winnipeg Police Service alleges the man was jogging on Abbotsford Crescent around 11 p.m. when he was approached by two suspects.
“They initially asked for the time, then verbally threatened and stabbed him,” WPS said in a news release.
The victim was taken to hospital with a serious injury. He was “admitted for observation,” police indicated.
Authorities say they located two youth suspects with the help of a police helicopter, the canine unit and tactical team.
The girl was charged with assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats and possession of a weapon. She was detained in custody.
A 16-year-old boy was released without charges.
