A 36-year-old Manitoba man who was allegedly in contact with a minor in the United States was arrested by police Tuesday.
Headingly resident Joshua Michael Fodey was arrested following a month-long investigation by the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit of Winnipeg police.
Police say they were informed by the U.S.-based National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that Fodey had been allegedly communicating with a child in Ohio, U.S.
WPS investigators executed a search warrant at Fodey’s residence and seized many electronic devices allegedly containing child pornography materials.
Fodey was arrested and charged with possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, three counts of distributing sexually explicit materials to minors and two counts of luring a minor.
He was released on an undertaking which prohibits any contact with anyone under the age of 18.
