Man arrested after teen girls, woman sexually assaulted in St. Boniface

Winnipeg police say a 67-year-old man is facing three counts of sexual assault in connection with a series of incidents last week, including some involving minors.
The Winnipeg Police Service says all the incidents happened May 25 – in a span of less than two hours – in the Norwood East and Archwood neighbourhoods.
Just before noon, police say the accused approached two teenage girls who were walking near Horace Street and Des Meurons Street and allegedly grabbed them and sexually assaulted them. When they ran away, police allege he followed them. They went to a nearby school for help.
Minutes later, police say the man approached a group of teenage girls at the school who were out for recess and commented on their appearance. The girls left and reported the incident to school staff.
Around 12:30 p.m., police say a man approached a woman in her 20s who was mowing her lawn in the Archwood neighbourhood. “He took hold of the lawn mower and sexually assaulted her. The female survivor was able to escape and contacted police,” WPS said in a news release.
The following day, police arrested Abdenour Khelifi while he was walking outside on Edgewood Street. The charges against him have not been tested in court.
