6 people injured in weekend collision on Ebb and Flow First Nation: RCMP

Manitoba RCMP say six people are were sent to hospital following a two-vehicle collision on the Ebb and Flow First Nation on Saturday.

Mounties responded to reports of a collision between an SUV and a side-by-side outdoor recreational vehicle at the intersection of Lake Road Northeast and Point Road South around 7:15 p.m. on May 16.

Mounties say that five people were inside the side-by-side at the time of the collision. A 17-year-old passenger was airlifted from the scene by air ambulance to a hospital in Winnipeg, while the 21-year-old driver, an 18-year-old passenger, an 11-year-old, and a one-year-old were all taken to a hospital in Dauphin.

The 34-year-old woman who was driving the SUV reportedly fled the scene on foot following the collision and was later found at her home before she was taken to a hospital in Dauphin.

No charges have been laid at this time, and the RCMP says that the cause of the collision is under investigation.
