17-year-old facing charges after allegedly pointing gun at another teen

Manitoba RCMP say a 17-year-old girl is facing charges after allegedly pointing a gun at another teenage girl.

Mounties say around 11:40 a.m. on May 4, they received a report that a gun had been pointed at a 16-year-old girl at a home on Hart Drive in Kinosao Sipi Cree Nation.

It is believed that the incident happened the night before it was reported; however, RCMP attended the home and took a 17-year-old into custody. She has since been released and is scheduled to appear in court on July 17.

Over the course of an investigation, police believe that the gun was moved to a home along Walter Margaret Road.

On May 8, RCMP executed a search warrant for the home in question, where they were able to find and seize seven firearms and various rounds of ammunition for each of the firearms.

Mounties note that additional charges are expected in connection with the unsafe storage of the firearms.
