Manitoba RCMP say a 46-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of 49-year-old Cameron Huley.
Around 11:37 p.m. on May 2, Mounties responded to a report of an aggravated assault in the RM of Ste. Anne.
When Mounties arrived at the scene, they found a 49-year-old man, who was later identified as Huley, suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Over the course of an investigation, police determined that there was a social gathering outside a home when an altercation occurred, which led to the fatal injuries.
The investigation led to the arrest 46-year-old Jeff Wyness. He has since been charged with manslaughter and has been released with conditions.
RCMP notes that Huley and Wyness were not known to each other prior to the incident.
In an obituary, Huley’s loved ones said that he was a well-loved chef, who will be missed by his mother, son, brother, sister Cheryl, and countless other friends and family all over the world.
