Man charged after woman was allegedly threatened in Morris hospital

Manitoba RCMP say a 20-year-old man has been charged, and a 39-year-old woman is facing charges after a woman was allegedly threatened inside the Morris General Hospital.

Mounties say they responded to the hospital around 4:30 p.m. on May 5, after receiving a report that a woman had been threatened.

RCMP learned that two women had been arguing inside the hospital when a man who was with one of the women allegedly flashed a handgun before leaving.

Not long later, RCMP received a report that a pickup truck had collided with a highway sign on Highway 75, just north of Morris; however, before police arrived on the scene, the pickup was abandoned.

Officers then searched the area and were able to find the man and woman in question walking along Main Street in Morris, and both were taken into custody.

Additionally, a replica handgun was located by RCMP service dog Sega a short distance away.

As a result, 20-year-old Timothy Craig of Plum Coulee was charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, using an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

Additionally, a 39-year-old woman from Emerson is facing charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, resisting arrest, and causing a disturbance.
