3 charged after Winnipeg home was shot at in April

Winnipeg police say a 19-year-old has been charged after turning himself in, in connection with a shooting incident in April, where two teens were also charged.

WPS says officers responded to a home on Simcoe Street near St. Matthews Avenue on April 24, after receiving a report that the home had been shot at.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a loaded MP40 submachine gun, additional firearms, drugs, cash, and other items consistent with drug trafficking in the home. At the time, two teens — a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old — were found within the home and were taken into custody.

Both teens were charged with multiple firearms, drug trafficking, possession of stolen property, and proceeds of crime offences.

Over the course of the investigation, police were able to identify a third individual who was believed to be connected to the incident and issued an arrest warrant for 19-year-old Nathaniel Malikov.

On May 5, Malikov turned himself in and was arrested for multiple firearms, drug trafficking, possession of stolen property, and proceeds of crime offences.
