Teen killed in collision on Highway 3 southwest of Winnipeg

Manitoba RCMP say a 17-year-old is dead following a collision on Highway 3 on Wednesday morning.

Mounties responded to a report of a collision around 6:25 a.m. on Apr. 8, just east of Carman.

“It appears the collision occurred when an eastbound truck slid and hit a westbound truck. Poor weather caused snow- and slush-covered road conditions are believed to have been a factor in the collision,” said the RCMP in a statement.

The driver of the eastbound truck, a 17-year-old from Carman, died from his injuries, while the driver of the westbound truck, a 40-year-old man from Winnipeg, was taken to hospital in Winnipeg and is in stable condition.
