Winnipeg police say a 17-year-old is facing 68 charges following a string of vehicle thefts in southeast Winnipeg.
WPS says around 8:45 a.m. on March 11, patrol officers reportedly noticed a stolen 2013 Nissan Rogue being driven along Elizabeth Road near Lagimodière Boulevard.
Following this, the officers called for assistance, and multiple units followed the Rogue on Fermor before trying to contain it.
While trying to contain the Rogue, the driver used it to ram two police vehicles before fleeing and driving over a tire deflation device.
Police say the heavily damaged Rogue was then abandoned on Cypress Bay, before officers were able to take the 17-year-old driver into custody along Gatineau Bay following a short foot chase where the teen allegedly discarded a knife.
Over the course of an investigation, police were able to determine that the teen was allegedly connected to several other vehicle thefts between Dec. 3, 2025 and Mar. 11, 2026.
