Manitoba is home of the world’s largest snow maze, and it’s officially open for the winter season!

Covering about 30,000-square feet, A Maze in Corn, in Saint Adolphe, was officially recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world’s largest snow maze In February 2019, surpassing the previous record held by the maze in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

“The very first year we started, we went straight for the world record. Someone told the owner what the number was and he said ‘oh I can beat that’ so we did, very first year and ever since then we’ve tried to get bigger and better,” says Jordan Dyck, senior employee, A Maze in Corn.

Besides the snow maze, visitors can look at snow carvings and buildings, warm up by a bonfire, slide down snow mountain, try the big luge, play a variety of snow games, and also have a warm drink at the snow bar.

“There’s lots to do, lots of fun to be had and it’s just nice to be out in the elements instead of cooped up all winter,” Dyck said.

From regulars to first-time visitors, the snow maze is becoming a popular winter stop.

“It’s not everywhere in the world you can build these things; you need climate and its worth going out to see it,” said Manitoban Brian Bremnar.

First-time visitor Yevheniia Chalyk is impressed.

“It’s our first time here, I’ve heard a lot of times that it’s an amazing place,” Chalyk said. “It’s windy unfortunately, but we are prepared very good.”

The snow maze will be open until it melts, so visitors still have time to “get lost” before winter is gone.
