Winnipeg Renovation Show presents tips for home upgrade

Hundreds of local landscaping, remodeling and interior design companies have gathered at Winnipeg renovation show to present the latest trends to those, who are ready to move ahead with their home improvement projects. Francisca Oppong reports.

Hundreds of local landscaping, remodeling and interior design companies gathered at Winnipeg Renovation Show to present the latest trends to those ready for home improvement projects.

Over 160 experts came together in a one-stop-hop offering tips and tricks at the renovation show which ran from Jan. 16 to Jan. 18 at the RBC Convention Centre.

“We have so many different features here to inspire anyone,” said Madelyne Lemieux of Winnipeg Home Shows, one of the exhibitors at in the Hosting 101 booth section of the show. “Whether you’re a homeowner, soon to be homeowner, we have a little bit of something for everybody.”

Lemieux showcased dinner table layouts designed by local creators.

“We’re leaning into bringing back connection and ways that we can bring a lot of tradition and memorable moments back to the dinner table in at age that’s digital,” Lemiex explained. “We really want to bring people back and make an effort to really create something special”

Lauren Klassen, co-founder, Studio Sixteen, a couple-owned residential and commercial renovations business, said the renovation show was a great networking opportunity for their business.

“Not only are we getting potential leads for incredible projects, but we also get to meet a lot of other people in the industry,” Klassen said.

Klassen said for this year’s exhibit, they wanted to showcase a high-end face frame cabinetry, inspired by Butler’s Pantry.

“We wanted to show people all of the different things that they can do in a space like this,” she said.

“Function is a huge part of how we design; we love designing for families and people that just need to solve problems creatively, so everything from organization to colour drenching, we want to inspire people to just step outside their comfort zone and have that really customized design for their home,” she added.
