8 facing charges for allegedly drug trafficking in Winnipeg

Winnipeg police say eight people are facing charges in connection with a drug and firearm investigation in the King Edward neighbourhood.

WPS says in December 2025, officers began an investigation into drug trafficking that was believed to be happening at a residence near Rutland Street and Ness Avenue.

Over the course of the investigation, police also learned that firearms were allegedly present at the residence.

On Jan. 14, 2026, a search warrant was executed at the home, and officers were able to find and seize the following:

  • A loaded .22 calibre rifle with 10 rounds of ammunition
  • A loaded Smith & Wesson .40 calibre handgun with 14 rounds of ammunition
  • A loose .40 calibre round of ammunition
  • Two sets of bows and arrows
  • 4 grams of Cocaine (Estimated Street Value = $320)
  • 13 grams of Crack Cocaine (Estimated Street Value = $1,040)
  • 11 Percocet prescription pills
  • 11 cellular phones
  • Scales and packaging materials
  • Approximately $10,000 CDN currency

As a result, eight people were taken into custody either at the residence or various parts of Winnipeg.

WPS says a 14-year-old boy, an 18-year-old man, and a 22-year-old man from Winnipeg are all facing 14 firearm, weapon, proceeds of crime, and drug-related offences.

A 27-year-old woman was also taken into custody and is facing drug trafficking and proceeds of crime-related charges.

Additionally, a 17-year-old boy from Winnipeg is facing 20 charges related to firearms, weapons, identity fraud, and multiple undertaking and release order breaches.

Lastly, three men from Calgary, aged 18, 23, and 25, are all facing numerous charges related to firearms, weapons, drug trafficking, and proceeds of crime offences.
