Winnipeg homicide police investigating man’s death at Lydia Street apartment complex

Winnipeg police say their homicide unit is investigating the death of a man following an alleged assault at an apartment complex two weeks ago.

The Winnipeg Police Service says Michael Harrington, 42, died of his critical injuries in hospital on Christmas Eve – three days after officers found him injured in the Lydia Street home.

On Dec. 22, the day after Harrington was found, a 27-year-old man was arrested for aggravated assault and detained in custody. Police have not indicated if that charge will be upgraded.
