Teen charged after allegedly shooting Winnipeg Transit driver with pellet gun

Winnipeg police say a 14-year-old boy has been taken into custody after allegedly shooting a Winnipeg bus driver witha pellet gun.

WPS says the alleged incident happened on Oct. 27, 2025, when a driver was assaulted during a dispute regarding a fare.

It is believed that the fare dispute occurred between the driver and a teen, which led to the driver being shot with what is believed to be a pellet gun.

On Jan. 4, 2026, police took a 14-year-old boy who is believed to have been connected into custody.

The teen has been charged with assault with a weapon, two counts of failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking, and mischief under $5,000.
