Manitoba corrections officer accused of 3rd sexual assault against inmate

A Manitoba corrections officer has been arrested once again in connection with the January 2024 sexual assault of an inmate receiving treatment at a Winnipeg hospital.
The 37-year-old correctional officer turned himself in to police on Dec. 10. He is facing a charge of sexual assault
It’s the third accusation of sexual assault against the officer, who was previously arrested in connection with the sexual assaults of two inmates – in December 2024 and January 2025.
All three alleged incidents involved inmates receiving medical care in hospital.
The Winnipeg Police Service says in the January 2024 incident, the incarcerated man was under the guard of two correctional officers.
“When one officer temporarily left the room, the man was sexually assaulted by the other officer who remained in the room. The man was not physically injured,” the WPS said in a news release.
The alleged assault was disclosed “at a later date” and the WPS sex crimes unit investigated.
The corrections officer was first arrested July 16, 2025.
In the alleged December 2024, Winnipeg police allege the officer sexually assaulted the inmate with a weapon.
The allegations have not been tested in court.
