St. Boniface Hospital employee sexually assaulted in parkade: WPS

Winnipeg police say a St. Boniface Hospital employee was sexually assaulted in the hospital’s parkade earlier this month.

The Winnipeg Police Service says it happened Nov. 8 around 11 p.m.

They say the woman got out of her vehicle and was asked for the time by an unknown man.

Authorities allege she was trapped between two vehicles and sexually assaulted. They say the suspect fled when the victim screamed.

“She alerted security, who then contacted police. She did not require medical attention,” the WPS wrote in a news release.

Several hours later, around 3:30 a.m., police say hospital security spotted the suspect and detained him until officers arrived.

Ermiyas Dangerfield, 27, was charged with sexual assault and detained in custody. The allegation has not been tested in court.
