Manitoba invests $1 million more for Brandon community centre construction

Premier Wab Kinew announced that the province will invest an additional $1 million to speed up the revitalization of the Park Community Centre and non-profit childcare facility in Brandon.

“This investment in the Park Community Centre is about making life easier for working families in Brandon,” said Kinew. “We’re going to continue to make sure that you have the resources that you need for kids to be able to grow up and for people to be able to grow old and for us to be able to grow our opportunities with a really strong economy,”

Ken Friedrich, president, Park Community Centre, said the province’s contribution will make the centre beyond a place for community gatherings and concerts.

“[With] the addition of the child care centre our community and city will thrive for generations to come,” Friedrich said.

The YMCA of Brandon will manage the new 68-space childcare facility.
