Two federal escapees from Crane River arrested in Winnipeg

Two federal inmates who escaped custody from a federal facility in Crane River were arrested in Winnipeg, according to the police.

The duo escaped the minimum-security facility on Oct. 30 and warrants were issued for their arrest.

Clifford Clinton Lamirande, 33,was located at a Winnipeg apartment complex on Nov. 1.

Meanwhile, 39-year-old Cory Jeffery Everett was apprehended on Thursday.

During Everett’s arrest, the police said they seized almost 80 grams of cocaine, along with cash, a knife, brass knuckles and an airsoft pistol. 

Everett faces multiple drug and weapons related charges.

Both men face a charge for Apprehension and Suspension of Parole/Statutory Release.

The team of Winnipeg Police and Manitoba RCMP were involved in the operation.
