Winnipeg police are turning to the public for help in locating an SUV related to a shooting investigation involving a man and his girlfriend in the McMillan neighbourhood on Sunday morning.
Winnipeg Police Service investigators are looking for information regarding a red 2019 Kia Sportage believed to have been driven by the accused following the alleged shooting.

Investigators believe the vehicle was driven eastbound outside of city limits near Deacon Road and the Trans Canada Highway and abandoned in the area.
“The vehicle may have been driven on service roads, municipal roads, and southeast Manitoba community roadways before it was abandoned,” Winnipeg police said in a news release.
The Kia is described as having a “distinctive” black decal striping on the length of its front and rear doors.

Police say if anyone locates the vehicle, they should not approach it, and instead notify investigators immediately.
A 25-year-old woman was hospitalized with a “life-altering injury” in an early Sunday morning shooting at an apartment on Wellington Crescent, authorities say.
Police allege the woman’s 28-year-old boyfriend pulled out a gun following an altercation, and the woman was shot “at close range.”
“Seriously injured, she escaped the building and waved down members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service in the area, who provided her with emergency medical care,” according to a Tuesday news release from the WPS.
Winnipeg police say the man fled in the red Kia before police arrived.
Machuor Machar Akau was arrested Monday and charged with aggravated assault. The allegations have not been tested in court.
Anyone with information, security video, including dashcam video of the vehicle is asked to contact the WPS at 204-986-6219 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers 204-786-TIPS.
