Broken window, shattered glass, and stolen merchandise, that’s how Curtis Howson found his store — First Row Collectibles — on Wednesday
Security tapes show an individual breaking the window and snatching targeted items. Making matters worse, he says this is a repeated attack on his store.
“It happened about six months ago. And it was one of those things I didn’t think we’d have to worry about it again,” said Howson. “Here we go again. The history repeated itself.”

Howson says it’s not just the stolen action figures, but the invasion of the business that troubles him. He is looking to install shutters and rock glass.
“It is what it is. It sucks to say it, but it’s the state of doing business in Winnipeg right now. It’s just the cost of doing business in Winnipeg. And it’s frustrating,” said Howson.
Despite repeated attacks on his business, and recurring retail theft in the neighbouring stores, Howson doesn’t plan to move his business out of the area.
“I am worried about this area in terms of the theft and the crime that’s going on. But I think as a community we could rise up and really make things going.”
