Teen hit by vehicle in Selkirk last week dies from injuries

Manitoba RCMP say the 17-year-old boy who was hit by a vehicle last week in Selkirk has died.

Mounties responded to reports of a vehicle-pedestrian collision around 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 15, on Manitoba Avenue, just west of Highway 9A, in Selkirk.

Officers responded to the scene, where they found that two young men were walking east in the middle of the road when one was hit by a vehicle that was also traveling east.

The 17-year-old was airlifted to hospital via STARS in critical condition with serious injuries.

Thursday, Mounties confirmed that the boy had died from his injuries.
