2 men in custody after fight at restaurant: Winnipeg police

Winnipeg police say one man has been charged and another is facing charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a loaded gun.

WPS says just before 2:45 a.m. on Oct. 16, officers conducted a traffic stop on a 2017 GMC Sierra after receiving a report of a disturbance at a restaurant.

During the traffic stop, police took two men — aged 35 and 38 — into custody without incident.

The officers were also reportedly able to find and seize a loaded Glock 17, 9mm ammunition, 30 Percocet pills, four Grams of Cocaine, a cellular phone, and $1,436.30 in cash.

Through an investigation, police learned that the 35-year-old man had allegedly gotten into a fight in a restaurant near Henderson Highway and Sutton Avenue. During the incident, he reportedly dropped a handgun onto the ground before picking it up and fleeing with the 38-year-old man.

Police have confirmed that the gun was not discharged and no injuries were reported from the fight.

Since, 35-year-old Bradley Michael Haacke has been charged with multiple firearm, trafficking, and proceeds-related charges.

Police also note that the 38-year-old man is facing charges of release order breaches.
