On October 9, Winnipeg Police arrested a 51-year-old man charged with striking down another man with a vehicle.
The incident took place back in early August, when police attended to the parking lot of a hotel located in the 1000 block of McPhillips Street to check the well-being of a man struck by a vehicle.
Police located a man in his 40s who was injured and required medical attention. He was transported to hospital in stable condition.
An investigation revealed that the victim got into an argument with another man, not known to him, in the parking lot, and as the victim tried to walk away, he was struck down by the suspect in a vehicle. The victim then tried to get up and was hit a second time before the suspect fled.
Major Crimes continued to investigate, and the man in custody now faces charges of assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm, and uttering threats.
