Woman charged for stabbing at Thompson hospital: RCMP

Manitoba RCMP says a woman has been charged for stabbing another woman in a Thompson hospital.

Around noon on Sept. 30, Mounties responded to a report that a woman who was visiting the hospital had been stabbed.

When officers arrived, they were able to find a 20-year-old believed to have been responsible, with help from security personnel.

Officers learned that the 20-year-old was also visiting the hospital with a family member at the time of the incident.

While in custody, police were able to find and seize a knife.

Police note the woman who was stabbed was known to the 20-year-old and was treated for a non-life-threatening injury before being released.

RCMP have since charged 20-year-old Brooklyn Wastesicoot, of Thompson, with aggravated assault and carrying a concealed weapon.
