Man charged for allegedly pointing gun at several people: Winnipeg police

Winnipeg police say a 19-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly pulling a gun on multiple people on Wednesday.

WPS says just before 4:30 p.m., officers responded to reports that a man was threatening people with a gun.

Initial reports indicated that a woman in her 40s was picking up her children from school around 3:30 p.m. along Brazier Street when a man approached her in a threatening manner.

It is believed that as she drove away, the man pulled a handgun from his waistband.

Following this, the man then reportedly approached a group of youths near Brazier Street and Maxwell Place, pulled a handgun from his waistband, and pointed it at them.

He was later taken into custody by police near an apartment complex, and no injuries were reported. Police also believe that the incidents were random and unprovoked.

When the man was taken into custody, police were able to seize two air pistols.

WPS says he is facing charges of pointing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, and possession of a weapon.
