Winnipeg woman arrested after month-long shopping spree resulting in thousands in stolen merchandise

A woman has been arrested following a month-long shoplifting spree from stores across the city, leaving authorities to piece together a trail of thefts that spanned several weeks.

Police say the incidents started on Jan. 23, 2025, to Sept. 11, 2025, and involved nearly 20 thefts at various retail stores around the city, including on Kenaston Boulevard, Portage Avenue, Sterling Lyon Parkway, and St. Mary’s Road.

About $10,000 worth of merchandise was stolen throughout these incidents.

Police say on Sept. 18, they arrested a 31-year-old woman at her residence without incident.

The suspect is facing 19 counts of theft under $5,000.

The investigation is ongoing.
