3 facing charges in random robbery on Munroe Avenue

Winnipeg police say three people are facing charges in connection to a robbery and assault.

WPS says around 10:20 p.m. on Sept. 16, officers responded to a report that a man had been robbed and assaulted by three people in a parking lot along Munroe Avenue.

Officers responded and learned that a 26-year-old man was walking in the neighbourhood when he was approached by two men and a woman.

It is believed that the three threatened, assaulted, and robbed the man before fleeing on foot.

The 26-year-old suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention.

Three people — a 21-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man, and a 28-year-old woman — were taken into custody and are facing charges of robbery.

Police note that the victim was not known to the suspects and the incident is believed to be random and unprovoked.
