Charges laid after woman was pushed out a window: Winnipeg police

Winnipeg police say a 21-year-old woman has been charged after allegedly pushing another woman out a window in June.

The alleged incident took place in June, when a woman went to an apartment block in the Daniel McIntyre neighbourhood to see a relative.

Once there, the resident of the home did not allow the woman inside, and they got into a verbal argument through an open second-storey window.

Some time later, the woman who was outside managed to sneak into the building and entered the suite, before pushing the resident who was sitting on the windowsill, causing her to fall to the concrete below.

The woman then fled the suite, and a bystander called 9-1-1. Police say a report was not filed at the time, and the woman who was pushed suffered serious injuries.

On Sept. 3, both women reportedly encountered each other on Selkirk Avenue, and a verbal argument took place. The argument escalated, and the accused allegedly grabbed the victim’s crutches and assaulted her with them, and allegedly kicked at her existing wounds, before running off with the crutches.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 4, the two were reportedly having a phone call when threats were allegedly made. Following this, police were contacted, and that’s when they were informed of the previous incidents.

A couple of hours later, 21-year-old Presley Whitmore was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault, robbery, uttering threats causing harm, and allegation of non-compliance with conditions of a sentence order.
