Two 17-year-olds have been taken into custody for allegedly making online threats.
Mounties from Portage la Prairie responded to a school around 8:10 a.m. after receiving a report that a student had made a threat.
Officers quickly responded and found the student in the school’s parking lit and took him into custody.
Through an investigation, police learned that the night before, the teen had made threatening comments in a group chat, claiming he’d bring guns to the school and would harm teachers.
RCMP confirmed that they searched the student and his vehicle, and did not find any weapons.
A short time later, another 17-year-old student was also taken into custody for allegedly being involved.
Mounties say an investigation is ongoing.
