Partial human remains recovered on riverbank of Red River, near University of Manitoba: police

Winnipeg police say partial human remains were located and recovered at the riverbank of the Red River on Tuesday afternoon.
Police say the remains were found at University Crescent and Markham Road, near the University of Manitoba.
Officers were called to the scene around 1:30 p.m.
“It is still too early to confirm the identity of the partial remains and this investigation is continuing,” police said in a brief email Wednesday.
CityNews was on the scene Tuesday. Police tape surrounded much of the area near Sifton Road, and forensics experts were present.
