36-year-old man stabbed near St. John’s Park

Winnipeg police found a 36-year-old man suffering from several stab wounds in the area of St. John’s Park near Main Street and St. John’s Avenue on Friday at around at 2:03 a.m.

Officials say the victim was transported to a hospital in unstable condition.

The victim was later upgraded to stable, he was able to provide officers detailed descriptions of two suspects.

At 2:12 a.m., police arrested the first suspect in the area of Salter Street and St. John’s Avenue. Officers seized a knife during the arrest.

Police say the second suspect was found shortly after in the 200 block of Salter Street. The second suspect tried to flee but was arrested after officers chased him on foot.

Both suspects, a 25-year-old man and 18-year-old man are now facing an aggravated assault charge. The 25-year-old man is also facing a weapons-related charge.
