By The Canadian Press

A pilot was uninjured after a float plane flipped upside down after landing on the Winnipeg River on Monday afternoon.

Police say Lac Du Bonnet RCMP officers were told the 27-year-old had safely landed the plane, but its right float went under water while taxiing to shore.

The pilot, from Snow Lake, was the only person on the plane and was able to escape.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been notified.
